I hate when people sugarcoat things instead of just telling the truth. Kevin Garnett in all likelihood will miss the entire playoffs. Just this morning I have seen countless websites explain how the Celtics can win without him. Here is a dose of reality:
THE CHAMPIONSHIP REIGN OF THE CELTICS IS OVER
It's done. You can MARK THE TAPE:
THE CELTICS HAVE 0% CHANCE OF WINNING THE NBA CHAMPIONSHIP
Actually lets MARK THE TAPE part 2:
THE CELTICS HAVE 0% OF MAKING IT TO THE NBA FINALS
I respect that the Celtics won as many games as they did with KG and a lot of their lineup hurt, but there is no way in hell they can make it through the playoffs with Kevin Garnett.
They will win a round or two on sheer determination and pride, but they will be taken out by either Orlando or more likely Cleveland.
That sigh of relief you are hear is from Lakers fans all over the world who did not want to see the Celtics in the NBA Finals. It is just a bad matchup for them. They would much prefer the Cavaliers.
People have to understand that players like Garnett and Kobe are literally on their last legs. Even though they aren't old in actual years they are very old in NBA years and there is only so much you knees can take before there is slippage and injuries.
That is the reason Garnett played like a demon last year he knew it might be his only shot. It is the reason Kobe is killing himself to get back to the Finals because he knows his elite level status is coming to an end.
I wish Garnett well in his recovery, but this is probably the beginning of the end of his career.

Celtics still could make the conference finals. The fans of Boston will put an asterick on this postseason, no matter if the hated Cavs or more hated Lakers win it this year.
You hate the Celtics just admit it
Boston wouldn't have beaten the Lakers this year with KG. Oh wait that's right they've proven so good at it this year. Losing KG just means they get a quick death rather than a slow one.
i'm actually bummed because being a laker fan, i'd rather win the title through the celtics, not through the cavs.
i wonder if the nba will make sure lebron wins though. hmm...
Aamir...I am very "afraid" of the Superstar reffin in the playoffs that seems to happen quite often since the Jordan 3-peat days. We already got a preview from that Spurs-Kings game this past week when the refs counted a 3 clearly shot after the 24 sec shot clock. If you take out the shady reffin, we may see some teams play on equal footing and get some real time results...but you know, "its a recession...everybody broke!!"
The Cavs hate continues. I guess we have to win it all to be taken seriously. Boston wouldn't have gotten by Cleveland anyway. But I feel like we will be robbed of a great series now.
