Jay Cutler Traded To Bears But Is The Grass Greener? - Robert Littal Presents The Infamous BlackSportsOnline

Jay Cutler Traded To Bears But Is The Grass Greener?

The saying goes:

"Be careful what you wish for"

Jay Cutler got his wish today as he was traded to the Chicago Bears for Kyle Orton and two first round draft picks (I will talk more about the compensation later). Cutler bitched his way out of Denver and now finds his way to the Windy City. I hope he is ready.

The reason being is that the city of Chicago now believes they have their "savior". The 2nd coming of Jim McMahon. The Quarterback they have been looking for, for the last twenty years in Jay Cutler. He will be expected to be the franchise and take the Bears to the Super Bowl. Not to the playoffs (which he has never done by the way), but to the Super Bowl.

I hope his shoulders are ready to handle that responsibility. What the Bears gave up for him was not compensation for a very good quarterback, it was compensation for the next Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or Ben Roethlisberger. Anything less from Cutler will be a great disappointment and cripple the franchise for years to come.

You got your wish Jay hope it doesn't come back to bite you in the ass.

As far as the Broncos they did the best they could do. I personally think Kyle Orton is a very good quarterback. He might not wow you physically like Cutler, but he has a strong enough arm and he is smart with the football. I think he will fit in great with McDaniel's system. Whereas Orton has been handicapped with a lack of talent at the receiver position in Chicago with Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal I think he will flourish in Denver.

If Denver gets quality players with their picks from the Bears in the next two drafts you would have to say they made the most out of a bad situation. Cutler and Orton will always been compared to each other and from my perspective Orton initially has the best chance to succeed.

There is no way right now to tell who got the best of the deal. I am setting a reminder for myself three years from today to write about (hopefully by then I will be a multi-millionaire by the way) who ultimately got the better of the deal until them we all have to just wait and see.

I agree with you on the cutler thing.... .

Jay could make his career or break it. He's being put in a real good position with a defense that can actually keep a team under 22.

The same can be said for McDaniels. Cutler has been a huge baby. But if Im Cutler Im offended McDaniels wants Matt Cassell too. Lets be honest; any QB's stats with Randy Moss can't be taken serious. All this talk about McDaniels system and people forget that Moss takes 2 and 3 defenders with him even if he stands there. So McDaniels can be careful what he wishes for as well. He thinks Matt Cassell can do what Culter can do? Okay, now you have Kyle Orton or maybe some QB in the draft and a bad defense. Im not saying Cutler handled this well, but McDaniels trying to trade a young gun like Cutler was dumb and lying about it made it worse. No one in their right mind thinks Matt Cassell is equal to Cutler in talent or production. So I never understood that anyway. If Matt Cassell flops in Kansas City McDaniels would have lost a young great QB over a guy who benefited from Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Keep doing your thing Littal!

Careers and jobs will be on the line because of this trade. It has huge ramifications

good riddence

When I heard about Cutler's stats over 4 seasons, my jaw dropped! Not because they just because they had wow factor and were consistent when so many other QB's had played subpar but because, I didn't know Cutler was that good to be such a whiner. Not justifying his punkassedness (add that to your vocab)moreso than saying Denver dropped the ball on this one.

I wonder since he wasn't sent to the Lions' "wasteland" if he is still being punished? For all those ridiculing the possibility of Cutler being traded to the Lions remember the Bears are two sandwiches short of a loser picnic themselves. Only time will tell if this was a dumb and dumber lateral move by the Broncos or not

The Broncos probably got the better deal -- ok, they did get the better deal -- but as a Bears fan, you have to be stoked about this.

You know what you're getting in Cutler. You can't say that about the two first-round picks the Bears gave up. Sure, they could materialize into Randy Mosses and Jason Taylors. Or, they could become Troy Williamsons and -- ughhh -- Dan Bazuins.

My only regret is K.O. had to go. Never before, did I feel more like I could play pro football, then when watching that bearded, glorious bastard.

First, I think that things could have been handled better by both the Broncos and Cutler. This is after all, a professional league. Having said that, as a Denver fan, I'm personally glad now that he's gone. What a friggin' baby! The NFL is a business, not a social club.
There were numerous instances in Denver where he showed his ass. One was after a horrible game with numerous interceptions that he got pissed at the media for their questions being too direct and he walked out because his feelings were hurt. Another was a show done by a local radio station where he was interviewed weekly. He would occasionally show up pissed off and the show's host eventually told him that if he didn't really want to be there then to let him know. They could always find someone else. Or when San Diego's Phillip Rivers had taunted him during a game in which the Chargers won and Cutler, (even after an apology was later offered by Rivers) continued to stew. To this day, he hasn't let that one go and that was two years ago. There are other instances too but for sake of space I'll stop. I wouldn't want to hurt Jay's feelings.
He is nothing more than a baby, a whiner. He reminds me of a spoiled brat who, when he doesn't get his way, falls on the floor to throw a tantrum until he gets it.
There are those players in the league who can go from team to team where their past antics have followed them. Eventually people get tired of your ass and it's better to have you gone and live in peace than to continue in the constant upheaval you cause by being there. Just ask the owner of the Broncos. While fans are fans, I honestly don't think that Cutler will amount to much when the media in Chicago rips him a new one when he has a horrible game. But time will tell if he has grown up any after this debacle. Personally, I don't think he can. He's too much of a baby.
