Mock drafts are dumb. Similar to instant draft analysis which are also dumb. Then again Mel Kiper Jr has become a multiple millionaire because of them so maybe I shouldn't be such a cynic.
Speaking of Mel let me tell you a little story. A lot of people ask how I came up with the title "Bona Fide Sports Expert". Many people thinks it makes me sound arrogant and egotistical which is all true, but not because of the name. The name is an inside joke that only a few people know about, but I am about to share with you. We started BSO around the same time of the NFL Draft in 05 (damn we have an anniversary coming up). I was sitting around with some friends watching the draft and every time Mel Kiper would come on the screen he would be introduced as:
"Mel Kiper Jr. Draft Expert"
Now Mel has a lot of knowledge about that draft but to be honest his guess on player evaluation is as good as anyone else in the world. It is just an educated guess. My homie Syko Red said I should have a title too and I jokingly said:
"Sure I will be Robert Littal Bona Fide Sports Expert"
And the legend was born. Here is the official 2009 BSO NFL Mock Draft with very limited insight because I am just guessing like everyone else.

1- Detroit Lions: Georgia QB Matthew Stafford
The Lions went 0-16 last year but didn't change their GM so do you really think they are going to make the proper choice? #1 picks should be unanimous especially quarterbacks. Half the league thinks Sanchez is better and he only started 16 games. What does that say about Stafford?
2- Saint Louis Rams: Baylor T Jason Smith
Orlando Pace is gone and even with him they couldn't protect the QB. Easy choice.
3- Kansas City Chiefs: Wake Forest LB Aaron Curry
The kid just makes plays all over the field. Safest pick in the draft.
4- Seattle Seahawks: USC QB Mark Sanchez
Matt Hasslebeck is on his last leg. Boom or bust for Sanchez.
5- Cleveland Browns: Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree
Unlike Braylon Edwards who will be traded Crabtree can hold on to the ball.
6- Cincinnati Bengals: Virginia T Eugene Monroe
Even a pick the Bengals can't mess up. Please trade Chad Ocho Cinco.
7- Oakland Raiders: Missouri WR Jeremy Maclin
Won't matter who they draft they will suck until JaMarcus Russell puts down the Twinkies.
8- Jacksonville Jaguars: Alabama T Andre Smith
Just please keep your shirt on Andre I beg of you.
9- Green Bay Packers: Boston College DT BJ Raji
Have the Packers fell off the map or what? No Brett Favre + No Drama= No press
10- San Francisco 49ers: Penn State DE Aaron Maybin
Am I the only one who thinks Mike Singletary is going to be a colossal failure as a coach?
11- Buffalo Bills: Texas DE Brian Orakpo
Who really cares about the Bills pick it is all about T.O. right?
12- Denver Broncos: Tennessee DE Robert Ayers
Broncos coach Josh McDaniels is bedridden with Migraines I like to call it the "Cutler Effect".
13- Washington Redskins: Florida State DE Everett Brown
Have you notice that teams where their owners make the majority of the personnel decisions usually fail?
14- New Orleans Saints: The Ohio State CB Malcolm Jenkins
Every media outlet in America has Beenie Wells going in this spot. This means A- he isn't and B- Kim Kardashian wouldn't allow it and she runs the Saints.
15- Houston Texans: Ole Miss T Michael Oher
How many years in a row can the Texans go 8-8? I vote for five.
16- San Diego Chargers: USC LB Brian Cushing
LT will be crying when this pick is made. You know he is sensitive like that.
17- New York Jets: LSU DE Tyson Jackson
Rex Ryan is now officially the most entertaining coach in the NFL. Plus the beard is outstanding.
18- Denver Bronocs: W Michigan S: Louis Delmas
.Denver defense sucked!!
19- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kansas State QB: Josh Freeman
As I started to do my scouting on Freeman I had totally forgot he was black. Seriously with a name like Josh Freeman you can understand why I thought he was white even though I seen him play many times. I know that is only funny to me.
20- Detroit Lions: Arizona T Eden Britton
You see the Lions new logo? Guess what it looks like the old one. Lions are very progressive.
21- Philadelphia Eagles: Georgia RB Knowshon Moreno
Brian Westbrook knees are horrible. Moreno will be starting by mid season.
22- Minnesota Vikings: Florida WR Percy Harvin
Hope they got some good weed in Minnesota.
23- New England Patriots: The Ohio State RB Beenie Wells
The rich get richer. Too bad Gisele has destroyed the Patriots dynasty.

I am sure he will be looking for Erin Andrews after he is drafted.

Waiting anxiously on the return of the Peyton Manning face.
28- Buffalo Bills: Illinois DB Vontae Davis

A newspaper reporter labeled him the next Plaxico Burress. No wonder no one reads the newspaper anymore.
30- Tennessee Titans: North Carolina WR Hakeem Nicks
