I honestly think that comments like yours set African-Americans back more than almost anything else.
An all African-American title fight would have been great... IF it had happened under the normal rules and standards of the UFC. It didn't, due to injury, and now that Machida proved to be the better fighter than Rashad, it won't happen for a little while.
But that has nothing to do with color, and everything to do with an injury that Rampage had, and Machida's superiority in the octagon. No more, no less.
Open your eyes Pat. The UFC is for the Chuck Liddels and Forrest Griffiths of the world. The UFC fanbase is largely made up of nerds, surfer boys, geeks, and clean cut black males. (i.e Pharrel Williams, Kanye West) The last thing they wanna see is niggas beatin up niggas. Now I said MOST fans not all. This is why Brock Lesnar was accepted into MMA (and given a title shot after 2 fights!) with open arms while Kimbo Slice (BIG BAD DUMB NIGGA)was under a microscope from the gittyup. The consensus is blacks could have baseball,boxing,football,basketball and anything else but leave MMA for the "intelligent and highly skilled" white man. What Dana white does is similar to David Stern's policies to keep the "thug element" out of his house. And by the way, don't tell me about all the previous minority champions and Lesnar's amateur career.

Well, 1st of all Kimbo wasn't accepted, because he was a street fighter and he hasn't beat anybody worth a shit. Brock on the other hand is an All-American Division 1 Wrestling Champion. Brock came from a more respectable background and proved himself, this is has nothing to do with race. Jorge Masvidal, who came from the same street fighting background as Kimbo, has much more respect b/c he has beaten ppl who are serious competition and has developed a serious fight game. He's Latino, so why isn't he getting the same treatment as Kimbo?
AC, you raise some valid points about the UFC fanbase and the marketability of black fighters but your commentary on the fighters themselves is a reach at best. Kimbo is clearly a tough guy but he didn't make it in the UFC because he is technically unskilled at fighting. He wouldn't stand a chance against the upper eschelon of fighters in his weight class, let alone some of those below it (I'd be willing to bet that Machida could beat him, albeit 30 pounds lighter).
Some of these comments are respectable even if i dont completely agree, while other are along the RUFKM? .

AC, sorry but you are wrong about Kimbo. Kimbo couldnt get into the UFC because all Kimbo ever fought was fatass untrained bums off the street while at least Brock was competing against other trained atheletes in college wrestling.
I must agree with Damon about Lesnar being more worthy of being in the UFC but i did object to how fast Lesnar was moved up the rankings when all he had beaten was ranked chumps.

I have to strongly disagree with you. Kimbo slice was a puncher with no boxing skills. You can't get by on that in MMA. You CAN get by on superior wrestling skills (lesnar has those) and strength (he has that) mixed in with an ability to throw a punch.
Lesnar is a FREAK. Dude almost made the Vikings after giving up football in highschool. He has freakish strength, agility, size, speed, etc for his weight class.
Kimbo has a strong right hand and thats it. He would get destroyed in MMA. Bobby Lashley is being taken seriously, a black dude, and nobody is whining.
What you want to see is "street legends" who never amounted to squadouche being treated like up-and-comers.
