But to make sure Vick isn't just doing this to fix his image and isn't genuine about it, the folks at PETA want him to take some psychological exams and an anti-social personality disorder test. PETA has always been known to do some pretty crazy campaigns (like throwing animal blood on people who wear fur), but using VIck? This could be interesting. They also asked Vick to take an evaluation entitled "Developing Empathy for Animals," a questionnaire that allows them to see your position on animals. PETA being the organization that they are...posted VIck's comments.
Let's review.

Aside from the Golden Rule, here are some noteworthy mentions:
One question, asked to give examples from a video to illustrate how the behavioral needs of animals are not met when they are forced to live in pens and cages...Vick got a 0/5 responding with:
Animals bite on cages and on themselves, growth become stunted.
When talking about what he saw in a certain video...
Chickens have an uncanny ability to think and are very agile. They are very athletic to me after watching the video.
Q: How did the pigs in the vidoe react when they entered the slaughterhouse in which another pig had urinated out of fear? what other fears to animals experience?
They just stoped in their tracks, they could smell and sense what was going on in the slaughter house. Animals have fears of large objects, sometimes water, yelling.
Talking about animal emotion:
Happiness, sadness, excitement, greif, frustration. It's important to address animal emotionm and physical needs because that's what makes them great pets. Humans have needs so that has to be applied to the ainmal world...

what the hell
And while I'm at it i recently watched a video where a race horse broke both of its front ankles while racing. Just last year alone the state of California had 261 racing-related deaths of horses. (http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2008/06/14/20080614deadhorsebox.html?&wired)
So where is PETA on this subject? I guess its a hell of a lot easier to publicly ostracize and humiliate a talented, and wealthy black athlete then it is to pursue the thousands of wealthy white horse owners who literally race horses to death in plain view of the whole world. Did i just play the race card? Well if pointing out the obvious racial disparity is a political gesture then I guess it is what it is, but who can tell me im wrong?
