Yes you read correctly, Ben Roethlisberger from Super Bowl champ to accused rapist. According to ProFootballTalk via MSNBC,
In the civil suit, which Cornwell confirms was served on Roethlisberger over the weekend and a copy of which our own Gregg Rosenthal has obtained, McNulty alleges that Roethlisberger asked her to come to his hotel room to fix the television, and that he thereafter forced her to have sex with him.
Roethlisberger faces one civil count of assault, one civil count of sexual assault and battery, one civil count of false imprisonment, one civil count of false pretenses, one civil count of fraud, and one civil count of intentonal infliction of emtional distress.
McNulty also claims that the coworkers named in the complaint thereafter defamed her by making allegedly false and inflammatory statements, and by allegedly serving as aiders and abettors of Roethlisberger's alleged misconduct after the fact.
Now after reading this it feels like deja vu because well Kobe Bryant had a similar situation as we were all aware of difference here is that well Roethlisberger is single so he won't be considered an adulterer here at the very least and this is a civil suit not a criminal one.
As his lawyer is stating here,
"The timing of the lawsuit and the absence of a criminal complaint and a criminal investigation are the most compelling evidence of the absence of any criminal conduct," Cornwell said. "If an investigation is commenced, Ben will cooperate fully and Ben will be fully exonerated."
It's unknown at this point whether McNulty ever has attempted to file criminal charges as a result of the incident, which allegedly occurred in July 2008.
See July 2008? You wait one whole year after the fact to file a suit? I'm a woman and I would like to give other women the benefit of the doubt in these situations but if you were sexually assaulted I would want the person who did it to me behind bars as soon as possible. Not file a civil suit a year after the fact.
Now I wasn't there so I don't know what happened but my gut tells me this is bogus and if I'm right women like this digust me and should be prosecuted for legalized extortion and ruining it for the real rape victims out there. If she is telling the truth well I hope Ben goes to jail.
That being said its too soon to tell what is going on all I know is I'll be curious to see how this case will be covered compared to the Kobe one where it involved a black man and a white woman and how badly this affects Ben's reputation from here on out.
And I'm sure someone is going to want to know Kobe's reaction to all this don't you?

this is bogus clearly she is lying this is prolly a case of she had sex with ben and he threw her ass to the curb just like kobe did
The timing of this complaint makes it sound pretty dubious. However, has anyone noticed how this story is nowhere on ESPN.com yet? We are talking about a 2-time Superbowl winning champion here? If this were any black quarterback or any black player period they would have at least mentioned it in passing.
Yeah I noticed the same thing as well .. I wonder if anyone is going to call them out for it?
Me personally I don't know what happened and I'm not going to act like I do. But from dealing with many women who have been raped, it seemed to be the hardest thing in the world to admit that they had been. For most women that has happened to that I dealt with they internalized it, never talked about and it completely changed their persona.
I don't think he's guilty. But I don't understand why ESPN is ignoring it. The complaint is filed, it's not like it's made up. If it was T.O. they'd have a helicopter over his house already, and wall to wall coverage. Ed Werder would be hiding in his bushes.
ROFL @ Sunnyboy for that Ed Werder comment. However, it's getting late in the afternoon and still nothing on ESPN. They've done breakdowns of T.O.'s reality show all day and still nothing on this. ESPN is straight protecting him.
yea but watch this they'll bring it up early in the morning were everybody is asleep but its kinda srtange that she came out a year after it happen thats like me getting robbed by my neighbor and i dnt call the police about it a year later just dosent make sense
