Just when you think we've had enough domestic drama of pro athletes this month(or in the case of McNair and Gatti ex-athletes), we have Richard Jefferson of the Spurs calling off his weddding which he dropped $2 million on hours before it was set to begin. According to the NY Post
"He called about two hours before the wedding. It was nuts," said one Jefferson pal.
He never showed up at the hotel, but "all his boys were there," the friend said. "He gave his best friend the Black Amex [credit card] for the night."
Jefferson's guests made good use of the credit card to party on their pal's dime.
Meanwhile his now ex-fiancee ended up going on the honeymoon by herself(straight out of Sex and the City the movie). The lesson learned here is that if you have enough money your friends will overlook you wasting their time by going to a wedding that was never going to happen and have an ex-fiancee who by all appearances seems understanding enough of the situation to not have set his car on fire.
That being said the amount his friends spent with his AMEX card is a small price to pay compared to the amount of money he would've lost had he gone through with a marriage that would've ended in divorce. He might've realized its best to stay single for whatever reason.
Its a case of its cheaper to not keep her.

I don't think any pro athletes, actors, or other entertainers should really get married until they retire. Too much temptation and too much potential for lost assets when things go wrong (which they eventually will). Smart move, RJ.

Well he was just traded to San Antonio and decided to cancel after he saw some fly ass, thick chicas walking around. Dead athletes are popping up all over so athletes are skating on ice when it comes to handling their women.

My take on it Qiana M. Is what did she bring 2 the table? It's a win-win for her all the way around. RJ has everything to lose....like his money...He woke and realize. He was making a big mistake. He could've told her in person. That's the only part that was wrong.
If she had nothing to bring to the table, than he probably should not have dated/engaged himself to her in the first place. He knew who she was before he put a ring on it. Nobody forced his hand.
