Just when the Steve McNair murder/suicide (I am still not buying it) was dying down a bit news came in that Boxing great Arturo Gatti was murdered in Brazil under some suspect circumstances. Here is what we know so far.
Gatti was found dead yesterday covered in blood in a upscale Brazilian hotel. He was vacationing with his wife and young son.
Details are a bit sketchy but according to Brazilian police Gatti was not shot or stabbed but his death was caused by a blunt force object to the back of the head.
Police also said he could have been dead up to eight hours before the body was found.
Now Gatti's wife and son were unharmed. I would definitely like to know if Gatti was dead for eight hours where exactly his wife was during that time period.
Gatti was not the most talented fighter, but he was exciting. You knew you were going to get your money worth any time you watched him fight.
Gatti's wife is being held on suspicion that she is the killer. According to police Gatti was killed by strangulation from purse strap. Yes you heard me right he was killed by a purse strap.
At first I was like there was no way that a woman could strangle a professional boxer, but then reports have come out that he may have been passed out drunk, drugged or knocked out after being hit with a blunt object.
The most damning evidence is that Gatti's wife can not explain to police what she was doing for ten hours that Gatti was dead in the hotel room. Reports state she may have been in the room for the entire time Gatti was dead.
Gatti's wife claim she had nothing to do with the murder, but it is obvious she was involved in some shape, form or fashion. Witnesses state they were fighting the night of the murder. Another high profile athlete murdered over matters of the heart in less than a week.

According to ESPN they say Gatti's wife is a suspect. Granted I don't follow boxing but thought it was an interesting development.
Apparently, the police said "she told a contradictory story" also known as lying. And it's reported that he was straggled by a purse strap and that a mutual friend of there's said that they were having trouble and planning on seperating, see the Brazilian Police showing people how to do it.
Well there's a lot less politics involved in other places than here I'm afraid. However I feel bad for the son he leaves behind he'll end up losing two parents out of this if so.
My goodness a divorce is much easier than killing a spouse at least nobody dies.

So I just got done reading a yahoo news article that says the wife is being officially charged with his murder. They said he died by strangulation.
HERES WHAT I DONT GET;
how does a woman who probably dont weight more than 160lbs strangle to death a man; but not just any man but a world class professional fighter? I know that he was retired and probably not in fighting shape but still we are talking about a woman versus a man who made his living off of defending himself from attacks?
And why did she wait so long to tell the cops he died? They say he was dead for 10 hours before she called the police.
Not all is what it seems here.
They also said he had a head injury so my guess is she knocked him over the head and then strangled him. Which is probably why he didn't put up much of a struggle.
