In a continuing effort to crack down on misdeeds and mishaps of the financial sector and automotive industry, the government is sparing no expense in the time and money it is dedicating to sending Barry Bonds up the creek without a paddle. After all, it's the menaces of baseball such as Bonds and Roger Clemens that are the real threat to this country, not the economy, healthcare, financial institutions and fortune 500 corporations or education.

Most of you will remember Bonds scandal broke in 2001, when suspicions of performance drug enhancement use ran amuck shortly after Bonds hit a record 73 home runs in one season, shattering the record previously held by Mark McGwire. During a raid of Bonds' ex-trainer, Greg Anderson's home as part of the BALCO investigation, federal authorities "coerced" Anderson into giving an interview resulting in the name dropping of some of his most distinguished clients including Estalella, Santiago and two other former Giants' players, Armando Rios and Marvin Bernard, the same clients' who will act as witnesses for the prosecution when Bonds' faces perjury charges at his upcoming trial set on March 2nd in San Francisco.

Also joining the lynch mob are Tigers outfielder and Bonds former workout partner, Gary Sheffield in addition to retired Oakland A's outfielder Jason Giambi and his brother Jeremy Giambi who all allege that they were obtained drugs from Anderson after being introduced to him through Bonds.

It's easy to recognize and commend the good but what about the bad and just plain ugly. From brawls to scantily clad nannies and sex scandals to tearful confessions and cons, there were some oh so forgettable 2008 sports moments that made your skin crawl and scream out random things that border idiotic, like Sarah Palin

8.) WNBA Shock Sparks Brawl

Not to be outdone by their male counterparts,the Detroit Shock and Los Angeles Spark ensued the first ever cat fight in WNBA during a game at the Palace on July 23rd that left WNBA fans enraged, male viewers cheering and two players suspended. Already a heated rivalry between the two squads, the ongoing tension that night from an earlier play involving LA Sparks franchise player and media darling, Candice Parker and veteran forward, Cheryl Ford, fueled the fight between Parker and Detroit Shock forward, Pienette Pierson who got tangled up tussling for the ball after a missed shot by Pierson. Of course, with teammates coming to each others aid, things got even more ugly after an "accidental" push of Lisa Leslie by Detroit assistant coach, Rick Mahorn resulted in a retaliation from Sparks forward, Delisha Milton-Jones. Detroit's Pierson and Mahorn were suspended for four and two games respectively while Kara Braxton, Tasha Humphrey, Elaine Powell and Sheri Sam (also from Detroit), along with Los Angeles' Leslie, Candace Parker and DeLisha Milton-Jones all got a one game suspension. Although this incident is prime example unsportman-like conduct and is very unladylike, I must admit this "catfight" certainly breathed life into a genre that has very selective few fans.

7.)U.S. Relay Teams Drop The Baton

The Olympics held so many shining moments for the stars and stripes but the embarrassing mishaps of the gold contending (perhaps second to the Jamaican relay team) U.S. men's relay team certainly wasn't one of them. Failing to qualify for the FINALS for the first time since 1988 after a misconnect between Darvis Patton and Tyson Gay on a final pass, left the Americans watching from the sidelines as the Jamaican relay team smoked its competition by a world record setting time of 37.10 seconds. To make matters even worse, the U.S. Women's relay team suffered the same fate and failed to qualify for the finals as for the first time since 1948!

6.)Kimbo Slice Exposed As Farce

Like Mulder from the X-Files we want to believe in the greatest American hero, that wayward underdog, that rises against all odds to realize the American dream. This is especially true in sports, so when word spread like wildfire about back alley brawler putting men down with one punch on Youtube, MMA fans had someone to believe in and the networks had a new poster child to exploit. Kimbo Slice's journey as a street fighter to ESPN cover story was truly nothing but a testament to how the wheels of the capitalist cash machine turn. After losing washed up fighter Ken Shamrock to an eye injury and CBS color commentator, Frank Shamrock (Ken's brother) to disqualification due to a broken arm, the Elite XC finally found a "suitable" replacement in Fort Myers native, Petruzelli, an average mixed martial artist all of 205 lbs and a 2-2 win-loss record since 2004 Kimbo was "sure" to beat. Only the surefire win backfired in a 14 second KO Ryu style! Haduken!

5.)From America's Sweetheart to Jailbird

Only a short four years ago, track star Marion Jones was America's sweetheart and three time Olympic gold medalist. She was the epitome of the female athlete: charming, strong yet humble gracing the covers of Vogue and Sports Illustrated within in the course of a year. What a difference a year can make, now the biggest athlete to fall victim to Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative scandal, Jones is flat broke and faces jail time after admitting to steroid use before her 2000 Sydney Olympic run up until after the 2004 Athens Olympics. Jones vehemently denied use of any performance drugs for years after she initially fell under suspicion but finally came clean in a well put together confession of lying and cheating that later broke down into a tearful apology worthy of an Oscar.

There is a classic Eddie Murphy skit (see above) where Murphy is explaining how women if your "Bed Gammon" skills are on point will believe almost anything you say regardless of how obvious the lie is. The example he uses is a friend gets caught red handed cheating and simply gets out of it by saying "It wasn't me."

Roger Clemens has been saying "It wasn't me" for about six months even though he has been caught red handed about 34 times now. The latest incident being government snitch Kirk Radomski finding receipts under his TV of all places for shipments of HGH to Clemens's home. The story of Clemens's guilt is becoming so repetitive that the story wasn't on ESPN.com front page more the 24 hours (but the NFL checking for "gang signs" was, imagine that).

Clemens through his attorney continues to say "It wasn't me" in hopes that naïve fans who don't want to believe their hero was a worse cheater than Barry Bonds or Mark McGwire will continue their blind faith in him. But even the most loyal women stabbed their husbands in the back after so many infidelities. How many more are you going to need before it becomes clear to you that Clemens has been and always will be a "lying cheat"?

Forget all the stuff about Brian McNamee, steroids, perjury or misremembering. If Roger Clemens slept with a 15 year old girl when he was 28, that makes him a pedophile. Am I the only one who sees this? Am I the only who finds it a bit disturbing that a 28 year old man meets a 15 year girl singer in a bar and invites her back to his hotel room?

If this were Barry Bonds, hell if this were you and I, do you think the media would gloss over this huge fact. I don't like to accuse people without facts, but since Clemens has proven to be a liar of gargantuan proportions and the country singer in question Mindy McCready has publicly said that she will not refute anything in the New York Daily News story, I find it hard to believe that this was just an innocent relationship.

I have pointed out several times if there is one person in the world who is taking Clemens for his word, he or she is an idiot. But, I am going to take it a farther after this latest allegation. Anyone in this world, solar system or universe who believes anything that Roger Clemens has said has to be seen as clinically retarded and needs to be institutionalized immediately.

It is one thing to be shooting steroids in your ass and lying about, but it is a totally different thing to be almost 30 having sex with a 15 year old. That is just disgusting, creepy and criminal and something that shouldn't be glossed over because it is Roger Clemens. I wonder if he is a fan of R Kelly?

I use to think that Roger Clemens was just an arrogant liar, but now I am starting to think that he is a truly disturbed man who thinks he is bigger than life and can do and say whatever he wants just because he is Roger Clemens. I hope he gets what he deserves.

Surprise surprise Roger Clemens caught in another lie. After telling and anyone who would listen that he wasn't at the infamous Jose Canseco pool party it appears that there is a photo of Roger present at the party. Imagine that Roger wasn't telling the truth. What is this now like they 40th lie we have caught Roger in? I am tired of saying it but I will say it again if you believe Clemens you are an idiot. I don't know how much simpler I can make things.

So Roger Clemens is being murdered by the public for being a bold face liar and conveniently for the bias mainstream media a report comes out late last night that Barry Bonds tested positive for steroids about a month after he hit his record breaking 73rd home run. Every media out in America ran it as breaking news and once again Bonds became a much easier target than Clemens. Funny thing though the report was incorrect because of a typo and the information had already been reported a few years back. Instead of an immediate retraction it was buried by the majority of the mainstream media. Look we all know that Bonds used steroids, but lets face the facts Clemens is what is going on right now and by trying to use Bonds to deflect criticisms from Clemens just shows how much the media doesn't want their Golden Boy to have shine taken away.

How's it feel Indiana (and Kentucky)?

There are fewer things that bring me more joy than watching these high and mighty college fanbases (and boosters) get what's coming to them after running a good coach out of town because he isn't good enough for them. Every few years one of these schools, who's supporters act as if they have a birthright to Final Fours and BCS Bowl Games), runs a good coach with a winning record out of town because he isn't winning enough, then hires some guy who is supposed to be a big deal to replace him. And of course the new coach does worse than the guy who supposedly wasn't good enough. In Kentucky, Tubby Smith was finally cahsed away after many seasons where the Wildcat fans were complaining about never getting further than the Elite Eight. Now they have their new coach in Billy Gillespie, and they stink (by Kentucky standards). And in Indiana, first they ran Knight (who's behavoir was perfectly acceptable until they started losing in the first round every year) then they got rid of his replacement Mike Davis even though he got them to the Final game in his second season and had a winning record. They chose Kelvin Sampson to replace him, even though he has some shadiness in his past, because Sampson was the winner they needed. Now Sampson's cheating ways are being put on full blast, and they feel stupid. And don't get me started on Notre Dame football. These programs all deserve what they get. This isn't 1970 anymore, and you can't just expect your team to be great because it always has been, If you have a good coach who follows the rules, wins more than he loses, and gets to postseason play, support him! Or else you risk looking like the guy who dumped his 40 year old wife for a 24 year old 'upgrade', only to find her stealing all his money sleeping around on him.

Please don't get tired of Roger Clemens!

The last thing I want to hear from anyone in the media is that they are tired of Roger Clemens. Don't want to hear it!! You people never got tired of trashing Barry Bonds, so don't get tired now. The stories are similar. Yes, Roger obviously did something, but we don't know what. Same as Barry. We also have a not so trustworthy character serving as the rat, with Brian McNamee taking the place of Kimberly Bell. But you'd better stay on this story with the same intensity that you did with Barry, and the four letter network had better stop running these legal experts out there to say that McNamee's got nothing to say we shouldn't listen to. If a dumped mistress with an ax to grind can be considered a credible source, then so can McNamee. Now can somebody please implicate an owner or Bud Selig in SOMETHING so that we can get to the real heart of the matter?

The NFL Hall of Fame still sucks!

Yes, they let my man Art Monk in. But that doesn't mean they're off my list. I'll go into it more in a separate piece, but as far as I'm concerned they still stink out loud.

I could write you 3-4 pages on the Congressional hearing today featuring Roger Clemens vs. Brian McNamee. I could talk about Jose Canseco Pool Parties, bloody asses, tape phone calls and hidden syringes, but what is the point? You have already made up your mind on who you believe and you know if you believe Clemens I think you are an idiot. With that being said I just want to bring up two points about the hearing and I want you to think really hard and draw your own conclusions.

1- Andy Pettitte says he did it.

No one questions Andy Pettitte honesty not even Roger Clemens. Everyone says he is a stand up guy, a very religious guy and someone who won't lie. So do you really think he "Misremembered"?

2- Clemens's Wife.

To me this more than anything proves Clemens's guilt. Clemens states that McNamee shot his wife in the ass with HGH in their bedroom, but he had no knowledge of it. I am going to re-write that sentence in bold:

CLEMENS STATES THAT MCNAMEE SHOT HIS WIFE IN THE ASS WITH HGH IN THEIR BEDROOM, BUT HE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF IT.

So let me get this straight Clemens never took steroids or HGH but his wife who isn't a scientist to my understanding lets his personal trainer into their bedroom and lets him shoot her in the ass with a substance she has no knowledge of and decides not to tell her husband about. Clemens finds out McNamee does this to his wife and does nothing. I don't have to be Matlock to figure out this makes absolutely no sense. Clemens is a liar can we please move on now?
