There is no way to sugarcoat this Titan fans, your team is in some serious trouble at this point in the season. Worse yet, things don’t seem to be brighter in the future. I still believe they have some time to turn things around and have respectable season, even though they face the Colts and Patriots in 2 of their next 3 games.
While I have never been a Kerry Collins fan (going all the way back to when he was at Penn State), Vince Young is not the answer. He has not shown anything to convince anyone he would have been able to lift his team out of the offensive funk they are in. It is not far off to suggest that the Titan would actually be worse off if Vince was in the games at all. The Titans are not a team that is going to win many football games by having Collins throw the ball 30-40 times ( it may pay off in your fantasy league however). The Tennessee receivers are also to blame for the offensive woes. They continue to hurt the offense with several drops that killed momentum down the stretch of their games.
Now the easiest area to criticize would be the defense for the teams struggles, and a strong case could be made for it. I mean you just don’t lose a talent like Albert Haynesworth and just think things are going to be the same. Sure they have had injuries, but what team hasn’t. All things considered, outside of the Texans game, the defense has not played that badly.
I think the real cause for concern is the special teams. In the first 4 weeks of the season, there has been nothing good to say about the unit. They are ranked in thee bottom half in all major special team categories. If the special teams/return game are addressed they could reach 9-10 wins, but probably would need A LOT of help to get in the playoffs.
What say you?
