As we get closer to the NFL draft I will be posting “rumors” about who may go where as I receive the “insider information”. Of course this “insider information” means nothing, because no one tells the truth in regards to the NFL Draft, but I will try to separate the legitimate stories from he BS.
What better way to start than with Tim Tebow.
As you know I think Tebow is a 3rd round talent at best, if he willing to play multiple positions. If he wants to be strictly a quarterback he shouldn’t be drafted until very late in the draft. Someone is going to take a chance on him much earlier than they should and the Redskins appear to be one of the teams interested in Tebow.
The Redskins who normally by this time don’t have any draft picks, but this year will be drafting high in 1st and 2nd round are targeting a franchise quarterback to start the Mike Shanahan era.
It is said they rwant Sam Bradford, but I doubt he will be available at #4 because it is almost a given that he will be drafted by the Saint Louis Rams.
Jimmy Clausen is an option, but the Redskins are not as high on him as they are on Bradford.
The rumor that is floating around is that Shanahan thinks he can “rebuild” Tebow into a franchise quarterback and if he is available at the top of round two the Redskins are interested in taking him.
I don’t know if Washington would be the best place for Tebow to go. I think for Tebow to be successful I believe he needs to go to a smaller market where the expectations will be low. If he is in Washington the pressure will be on from day one to play him. Also Shanahan is very demanding of his quarterbacks and his system is about being accurate which is why they are high on Bradford because of his accuracy. Tebow seems the opposite of the type of quarterback that Shanahan would want. With that being said there is a lot of interest in Tebow from the Redskins organization.
Jason Campbell is not pleased by this rumor.
