In the latest twist in the soap opera that is becoming the courtship of LeBron James, it came out today that Mark Cuban and Steve Kerr were fined by the NBA for comments related to LeBron James. Cuban said:
“Come July 1, yeah, of course. Anybody would be interested in LeBron James and if he leaves via free agency, then it’s going to be tough. If he does like I’m guessing … which is say ‘I’m not going to leave the Cavs high and dry,’ then he’ll try to force a sign-and-trade and that gives us a chance.”
He was fined $100,000 by the NBA. David Stern sure does get a kick of reaching in Cuban’s pockets. Steve Kerr, the Suns’ GM, when asked about LeBron coming to Phoenix said:
“If he’ll take mid-level, we’ll give it to him. I think he’ll take it. Don’t you think?”
The funny thing about these fines is that everyone is tampering right now. Even “haters” of LeBron rate him no lower than third among the best players in the game right now, and he is just coming into his prime. Every GM out there would take him if they could.
The insane thing about this is the fact that things like this video are being made. If you can make it through 22 seconds without laughing, then I don’t know what to say.
Check it out below:“Please Stay LeBron” Video..pathetic.
This is completely out of control. The Chicago Tribune’s sports department sent a gift basket to Ohio’s Governor, telling them to toughen up after they did the pathetic video. You see the picture up top. There are cities launching sites to “woo” LeBron. New York: www.getlebron.com and Chicago: www.sendlebrontochicago.com (my hometown has got to do better). There are people in Cleveland actually selling “Stay LeBron” gear. The Clippers fans threw a parade to get LeBron to come there. This is all too much!
I know the city of Cleveland is a “down on our luck, bad things only happen to us” kind of town, but for real — get a grip. The rest of the cities participating in this foolishness need to sit down, ’cause you all are looking crazy, too. I will guess that LeBron is sitting around, counting money and laughing at all this, and he probably should be. I just know this; Cleveland could not have helped their chances with that awful song.
