This shouldn’t be a surprise to readers of BSO. From the time I wrote my article about how LeBron should go to the Lakers, I pointed out that the Bulls were the favorite and I had sources telling me from the beginning it was a virtually a done deal.
The reason why I always thought the Bulls were the choice, though, was not based off my sources or any magical powers, but based off logic.
The Bulls have the best team available to LeBron. Better than the Knicks, better than the Cavs, better than the Russian Nets and the rest of his suitors. If Chris Bosh signs with him in Chicago, anything less than a championship would be a fail.
A NBA Executive who wanted to speak off the record agrees that LeBron is most likely going to the Chi, here are the details:
An NBA executive says the Chicago Bulls have emerged as a favorite in the free agency sweepstakes for LeBron James, along with Chris Bosh, The New York Times reported on Sunday.
The executive said he had gleaned from his discussions with other league executives that James is leaning toward joining the Bulls, along with Bosh, his teammate on the United States’ gold medal-winning 2008 Olympic team. The Times reported the executive did not want to be named because he was discussing a player who was not yet a free agent.
“I think it’s a done deal,” the executive, said according to the report.
The one thing I want to give LeBron credit for is not going on a “Free Agency” tour. If he is truly focused on winning, the type of nightlife a city has to offer should be of no significance to him.
If he wants to be a big dog in a big city with the best chance to win, the Bulls are a no-brainer.
With that being said, no one knows for sure what LeBron will do except LeBron, so as always, take these reports with a grain of salt. Don’t believe anything 100% until the contract is signed.
