Hi, what are you looking for?

Carmelo Anthony Wedding: Did Chris Paul Suggest He Team Up With He & Amar’e in NYC?

Details are bit sketchy, but some are saying while Anthony was eating some birthday cake that Chris Paul was in his ear talking about teaming up with the Knicks to combat the NWO down in South Beach.

I don’t know if that would make them Degeneration X, I have to check with the Wrestling Gods about that.

Remember Paul is still under contract with the New Orleans Hornets, but it seems more and more likely he is trying to get out of there by any means necessary.

Seeing LeBron team up with Wade, you may now see more “Alpha Dogs” do the same thing.  Reports were that Carmelo would sign his extension with the Nuggets, but as of today that extension has not been signed.

NBA analyst Jason Williams was the first to plant the seed that Paul was trying to get into Carmelo’s ear:

Then there is this tidbit from Newsday.com.  It should be noted before you read this that Newsday is owned by James Dolan … who ironically owns the Knicks:

According to multiple sources who attended the wedding, which was held at Cipriani on 42nd St., the common theme among the best wishes to Melo and his new bride, television personality LaLa Vazquez, was that they should consider taking up permanent residence in New York and Carmelo should take the challenge LeBron passed on with the Knicks.

Then, with a less-than-pleased Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke in attendance, Chris Paul included in his address to the happy couple that he wanted to get Carmelo to go with him to join Amar’e Stoudemire with the Knicks “and form our own Big Three.”

I doubt that last part happened — I think that is media spin from Newsday, but if anyone can confirm or deny I would be more than happy to listen.

Until Melo signs his extension the rumors will be out there as everyone tries to figure out a way to compete with the South Beach NWO.
