As a proud alum of The Ohio State University the stories about Jack Tatum roaming the secondary at THE SHOE and putting the fear of god into receivers are legendary.
Most modern day people remember Tatum as an Oakland Raider. Alas he might be most remembered for his hit that paralyzed New England Patriots wide receiver Darryl Stingly.
For a long time Tatum and Stingly never talked, but as they got older those fences were mended.
Tatum who had the nickname the “Assassin” was known for his hard hits (see the video below).
Tatum died of a heart attack at the age of 61. Prayers go out to his family.
