The thing about Amar’e Stoudemire is this:
He is a very good offensive Power Forward, but beyond that he is a poor rebounder and awful defensive player. Exactly the type of player that the Knicks don’t need.
I also can not overstate how easy Steve Nash makes it for Amar’e. It is very similar to how Jason Kidd made Richard Jefferson look a lot more valuable than he really was.
Amar’e is a good B-side player, but if the Knicks aren’t able to sign LeBron James or get a point guard to run Mike D’Antoni’s offense properly, Amar’e will score 25+ but the Knicks will still lose by 50+.
There are some rumblings that the Knicks are trying to get Tony Parker from the Spurs. That would make more sense, but I still can’t see a foundation of Amar’e and Parker competing for championships.
The Brooklyn Nets are looking better and better by the minute.
The Summer of LeBron continues.
