From the mouth of Steve Blake on Bald Faced Truth radio show in Portland, he is set to sign a 4 year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers, who have been trying to upgrade their point guard position for years, would view Blake as an upgrade over Jordan Farmar and Shannon Brown, who are both free agents.
As far as Derek Fisher, the LA Times is reporting that if he doesn’t get a deal to his liking, he would be willing to move on to a championship caliber team.
Fisher made a little over 5 million dollars last year and is looking to make the same. Reports are that the Lakers were only offering a little less than 3 million for the 2010-11 season.
If Blake does sign with the Lakers it doesn’t necessarily mean Fisher won’t be back, just means it is guaranteed that Farmar won’t be back and Shannon Brown would not be a priority signing.
