The homie Big G is known to saying the following phrase:
“Rob this is chess not checkers!!!”
In essence what he is saying is when in battle always look at it from a mental perspective not just the physical. I like to get a little deeper with it. If you have ever read the book “The Art of War“ it gives 13 principles of defeating your opponent.
Rule #6:
Weak Points & Strong/Illusion and Reality explains how your opportunities come from the openings in the environment caused by the relative weakness of your enemy in a given area.
If you are to believe that the Lakers are truly interested in Delonte West (I think the Intel is a bit iffy) that would have to be the only reasoning correct?
I mean honestly what other reason would there to attempt to sign West except to mess with King South Beach’s head?
Playerpress.com has the details:
The Lakers had been trying to trade Sasha Vujacic with a first round pick in order to get his salary off the books. They had attempted to make the trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers for Delonte West.
That did not work out and on Tuesday the Cavaliers traded West to the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, the Timberwolves will “almost certainly” buy West out of the remaining $4.6 million on his contract for $500,000, making him a free agent.
If the Lakers can move Vujacic, sources say that they are going to add Delonte West to the roster.
As I stated before the Intel is a bit iffy, if not totally far fetched, but it is out there. I don’t see West having any tangible benefit basketball wise to the Lakers.
If I was Laker fan I would much prefer to keep THE MACHINE on the roster (actually that is just what I would prefer because I like saying THE MACHINE).
By the way Chris Brown’s brother does not approve of this post.
