As some of one you may know, Lorenzo Neal was one of the best FB blockers in NFL history. He lead his Rbs to 11 straight 1000yds rushing seasons. Stats speak for themselves, he was a mini O-lineman. Of course part of the job of being a FB is that its rare people know your name unless you mess up and RB get all the credit and news. Well today his name popped up. The Fresnobee is reporting tha Fresno home was burglarized while he was on vacation with his family. What did he lose? The Fresnobee is reporting he went on twitter(@lorenzoneal) to detail his loses:
“Neal listed some of the stolen items on Twitter, including personal gear from his rookie season, framed jerseys from throughout his career, a Jerry Rice-autographed jersey and a pair of gloves from one of the Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier fights. Some jewelry was also missing. Curtice said the loss is estimated at several-hundred-thousand dollars.”
Several Hundred thousand dollars, damn. Not only that, its the sentimental value of the items…He is offering a $5000 reward for information that can lead to recovery of items. Hopefully some of his former running running backs: Eddie George, Corey Dillon, and LT could chip in on reward. The least they can do for him and after years of abuse he took so they could shine. Lorenzo now leaves us with this tip on his twitter,
“Please be on the lookout Craigslist, ebay, or sports shops for people selling Lorenzo Neal items[…]”
Hopefully he recovers his property.
Of course, its never good news when anyone is burglarized. Earlier this year ex-nfl player Ron Dayne’s home was also burglarized. I wouldn’t say its an epidemic but stuff happens. Luckily neither was home at time of the incident. As we all remember, we had the case where the late-great Sean Taylor was killed during attempted burglary. Its scary stuff. Unfortunately for players, this wont be last burglary case we hear about…
X’s and O’s with Lorenzo
