Former Punter Jeff Feagles on Plaxico Burress: “He Stole My Number, He Owes Me Money”

Sometimes you see a story so random you wonder if it is a practical joke or not.  So while I was doing my morning reading and saw that Jeff Feagles was claiming that Plax had stole his number I thought I was being “Punked”.

Alas Feagles seems to be a bit salty about what happened five years ago.  Here are the details:

When Plaxico Burress signed with the Giants in 2005, he wanted the No. 17 jersey worn by punter Jeff Feagles. So Burress and Feagles struck a deal: Burress would get No. 17 in exchange for paying to have some work done on Feagles’ house.

But five years later, Feagles says Burress never did pay up.

Feagles told SI.com that he tried talking to both Burress and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, about it, and neither one of them would honor the commitment Burress made.

“I never got paid for it,” Feagles said. “I asked [Burress] for it. Every time I went to Drew he said, ‘That’s between you and Plax.’ Bottom line, I never got paid. He basically stole my number.”

It appears that Feagles is ready to go Frank Lucas on Plaxico.  Unfortunately the only way that Feagles could get to Plax now would be on the other side of a glass wall with an old school Batphone for communications.

Feagles got swindle, maybe he will go on Judge Mathis when Plaxico gets out.
