Another day, another Lebron story. TMZ is reporting that earlier today Lebron has met with “Rabbi Yishayahu Yosef Pinto … a man known around New York as the “Rabbi to the Business Stars.” Your asking yourself why he did it? TMZ reports:
“Sources involved with the meeting tell us LeBron had hired Rabbi Pinto for spiritual guidance for a “big merchandising meeting” that took place on a private yacht somewhere off the coast of NY just hours ago.
Rabbi Pinto — a 37 year-old-man who speaks only Hebrew — has met with all sorts of business moguls in the past … and is considered by some to be a “spiritual guide” who consults on business matters.
We’re told LeBron paid in the neighborhood of 6-figures to get Rabbi Pinto to sit in on today’s meeting … in which LeBron heard presentations from several “big time” retail execs.”
Ok, repeat it with me, “6-figures” for the Rabbi to sit in on a meeting. Thats Creflo dolla money right there. For that money he better have GOD on speed dial.
My take on it, if Lebron got the money to blow, by all means, blow it on whatever you like. For the Rabbi, I did a quick google search. According to this site he:
“…has no formal business education, only speaks Hebrew and won’t meet with women, is considered by Israeli real estate professionals as well as people in other professions and of different faiths to be a holy man. His supporters credit him with helping hundreds of thousands of people.
Some line up for hours to meet with the rabbi, who makes himself available to the public outside of synagogue services and the classes he runs, one day a week. He sees 5,000 people a day in Israel and 200 or 300 in New York, giving most people a quick blessing and others more time, claimed Ofer Biton, one of the rabbi’s two New York assistants and translators.”
From what I gather, he is a deeply spiritual man and believers swear by him. Who am I to pass judgement on his legitimacy. Not going to pretend to know anything Judiasm.
I’ll leave you with this, if Lebron James believes him and Rabbi Pinto is wiling to take fee, let them be happy. Of course we also have reports of Knicks new free agent acquisition Amer’e Stoudemire, discovering his new found faith of Judaism and even traveling to Israel and getting star of David tattoo.
Maybe its a new movement by players to have faith more pronounced, maybe its nothing. We’ll see…
