I am comic book guy.
I didn’t start as a kid, it was when I was in college. A friend of mine had been collecting since he was 9 and had them all over the dorm. He took me to a comic book store around campus and from that point on I was hooked.
I was already a big Spider-Man fan from the cartoons, but I never knew the back story. Once I got into it, it has become one of my hobbies. My collection is deep, well over 1000 comics, graphic novels and other special edition stuff.
So when I saw this item on Jockandstilletojill, I was interested in knowing more:
ESPN will produce an extended series of promo images featuring the NBA’s superstars and staples of the Marvel Comics universe. There are reportedly over 30 different images, and the first two have been leaked. Fittingly it’s Kobe and Lebron (Smile who else would they start with, Big Baby?)
The first image parallels Kobe Bryant’s five-ringed hand with the Infinity Gauntlet, from the comic of the same name. Check that drawing closely, it features LeBron James, Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, Kevin Durant, and a few Super Heroes all vying for what could be Kobe’s sixth ring.
Good stuff and the Lebron cover is CLASSIC.
If you want to begin reading comics as a hobby, I would suggest one of my favorites of all time.
Amazing Spider-Man #50 “Spider-Man No More” which is the inspiration for the Lebron cover.
