D Wade “Out of Here” & Charles Barkley “Chuck’s Remix” T-Mobile Ads..By Spike Lee

The interesting thing about this this: with our 24/7 news cycle, things like this happen all the time. Someone says something innocently or someone’s drunk uncle is quoted and next thing you know it is a huge story.

Sometimes you have big hits when that happen (see: Rex Ryan Foot Fetish story) other times you have big misses (see: Carmelo already being traded to Nets).

In that regard, I see the brilliance in the ad—- very nice job by Spike Lee. I like D Wade’s suit too, very sharp.

The Chuck Remix is pretty funny, they auto tuned him. Definitely not “tuurrrble”.

Here are some more details and some behind the scene screenshots.

The Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade, NBA legend Charles Barkley and acclaimed film director Spike Lee team up for T-Mobile’s new NBA-themed television advertising campaign. Spike Lee directs two new ads for T-Mobile featuring NBA campaign veterans D-Wade and Sir Charles, with a special cameo by Phoenix Suns’ Steve Nash.

The ads highlight how T-Mobile’s 4G devices, like the new myTouch 4G, operate at super fast speeds on America’s largest 4G network, to keep fans connected to the quick pace of the NBA world. The humorous spots include a :30 and :60 version of each of the following:

• “Out of Here” – A spontaneous, somewhat cryptic video posted by NBA superstar Dwyane Wade gets misconstrued, leading to a league-wide, 21st century game of “telephone” where rumors swirl that Dwyane wants to be traded from the Miami Heat, the league’s most buzzworthy team this season.

• “Chuck’s Remix” – A video clip of Charles Barkley’s one-of-a-kind NBA commentary gets passed around, re-mixed and re-touched by players and fans around the country, turning Charles into an overnight viral sensation.

The campaigns were produced by Pony Show Entertainment.
