It is out of character for Durant to be nothing but complimentary of his peers. He rarely engages in trash talking, so for him to say this about Chris Bosh, I tend to believe him.
During the Heat vs. Thunder game Durant and Bosh got into a mild scuffle and both received technical fouls.
After the game, one that the Thunder lost, Durant went off.
Calling Bosh a fake tough guy (see tweets above), previous reports that he called him a punk were incorrect.
Here is the full quote:
“I was talking to my teammate and [Bosh] decided he wanted to put his two cents into it. I am quiet guy, laid back guy, but I’m not going to let nobody talk trash to me. He’s on a good team now so he thinks he can talk a little bit. There are a lot of fake tough guys in this league and he’s one of them.”
“I’m no punk. I wasn’t even talking to him first off. He decided to butt in and I’m not going to just let that slide. Especially in our house. Like I said, he’s not one of those guys I look at and say he has a rap for talking back to guys or getting into it. He’s a nice guy. I’m not going to let that type of person say something to me like that.”
I never saw Bosh as a tough guy even a fake one, but when you have Lebron and Wade as protectors I can see him puffing out his Avatar chest a bit.
I like Durant coming out of his shell a bit and speaking on how he feels about the situation. He is the leader of the Thunder and he is letting opposing players, he and his squad won’t be bullied.
