The Dolphins Interested in Bengals Carson Palmer

My personal opinion is anytime an athlete tries to strong arm his way out of a situation (no Bathroom Ben) and he has multiple years left on his contract, the team should call his bluff.

People always say in the NFL that the owners have all the power— they can cut a player when he isn’t performing or they deem him overpaid. But the player has no recourse if he doesn’t like his situation.

If the players are that upset about that, while they are locked out, they should ask for guaranteed contracts— then they don’t have to worry about that.

I don’t think the Bengals should trade Carson Palmer. If he retires so be it, but he is showing why he isn’t a true leader by trying to bail out.

According to Profootballtalk, the Dolphins will try to pry him away from Cincinnati.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that Palmer stands atop Miami’s wish list of quarterbacks who are potentially available this offseason.  The Dolphins prefer Palmer over possibilities like Kevin Kolb, Vince Young, Donovan McNabb, Kyle Orton, and Alex Smith.

“Palmer is the player folks in the Dolphins organization would love on a Dolphins jersey,” Salguero writes.  “None of this is my opinion. It’s the opinion of folks within the Miami organization who have done the work. This comes from folks who have watched the films or crunched the numbers or done the evaluations or talked to the men who did.”

I would rather have someone like Kevin Kolb, who will have a chip on his shoulder and is ready to work.  Not someone who is quitting on his team, because that isn’t what being a star quarterback is all about.
