Tiger fans of today will get their own chance to gawk at Shaquille O’Neal in a Louisiana State University uniform this upcoming season. Of course this Shaq won’t yield anywhere near the output of the 90’s version. LSU has elected to honor the big man with a statue in his honor. Shaq is the first of four former LSU basketball greats that will be replicated in the sculpted form. Pete Maravich, Bob Petit, and former lady tiger Seimone Augustus round out the group of honorees.
Unlikely as it is to happen, it would be great to see Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf formerly Chris Jackson acknowledged as well.
