Many people believe that Phil Jackson is done with the Lakers, but not done coaching. The New York media is already trying to get the rumor mill swirling that the Knicks are a possible destination in 2012.
I don’t know if the Knicks has the type of roster that is meshes well with Phil’s coaching philosophies, but expect to hear 100 more stories like this.
According to an NBA source, Jackson is definitely through with the Lakers, but would not rule out him coaching again in the NBA.
“If the right situation presented itself, he would have to consider it,” the league source said.
The Knicks could be the right situation in 2012, even if they are not on the verge of adding a third star in Chris Paul to go along with Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire.
If the Knicks were able to get Chris Paul, I would take this source more seriously. Until then it is just wishful thinking, but the Knicks fan can dream.
