Terrell Owens, 37, a free agent hasn’t had any luck finding a new team, however his acting skills, or lack thereof, seem to be serving as a decent source of income for him in the meantime. The former 49ers and Cowboys star is booked to guest star on the season finale of the USA Network series “Necessary Roughness.”
“Necessary Roughness” has been a ratings winner with an average of 4.5 million total views since its series opener. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Terrell Owens will be playing star defensive back Kevin “The Minefield” Minnifield, who the fictional New York Hawks will face in the postseason. T.O.’s appearance will air on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m.
T.O. will also make his big screen debut later this year in “Dysfunctional Friends.” A comedy/drama film about a group of college friends who reunite after the sudden death of their larger-than-life friend.
I’m not quite sure what these on-screen appearances are paying him, but I hope its enough to offset his expenses, given the likelihood that Owens may be forced into early retirement due to the fact he is faced with rehabbing a second knee injury in 6 months.
To make matters worse, in addition to his uncertain football future and income, Terrell Owens baby mama filed a civil suit for child support just four days ago and the trailer for the third season of his reality shows also alludes to financial troubles for Owens.
