T.O. sat down with Stephen A. Smith of ESPN to talk about his progression from his torn ACL and his return to the NFL (yes he cries). It was a bit of an odd interview with Owens’ family members flanking him while he spoke with Smith.
I don’t think anyone questions if Owens, who has a legendary work ethic, can still play, but who would be willing to give him a chance?
It makes no sense for any team not in playoff contention to go after him, so it limits his options.
He has burned so many bridges it makes you wonder if a team like Titans or Giants (both could use a receiver) would even consider him. I hope he gets another shot, but if he doesn’t he has no one to blame but himself. Some of the criticism against him is unfair, but on the flip side some of it is warranted.
I wish him well.
