Albert Pujols’ Wife Diedre Mad at God Because Cardinals Didn’t Offer Pujols More Money

There are times it is beneficial for athletes to lie.

Then there are times they should just tell the truth.

The singular reason that Albert Pujols is a member of the Angels right now is because they offered him the most years for the most money.  There is no need to try to convince people otherwise and insult their intelligence.  What he did was perfectly fine, but he sounds stupid when he says it wasn’t about the money.

His wife though even sounds worse than he does.  Cosbysweaters.com has this quote from Deidre Pujols.

“When it all came down, I was mad. I was mad at God because I felt like all the signs that had been being played out through the baseball field, our foundation, our restaurant, the Down Syndrome Center, my relationships, my home, my family close,” Diedre Pujols told the station. “I mean, we had no reason, not one reason, to want to leave. People were deceived by the numbers.”

She indicated the key moment was the Cardinals’ initial offer of five years and $130 million.
“When you have somebody say ‘We want you to be a Cardinal for life’ and only offer you a five-year deal, it kind of confused us,” Diedre Pujols said. “Well, we got over that insult and felt like Albert had given so much of himself to baseball and into the community … we didn’t want to go through this again.”

“The city of St. Louis has absolutely been deceived and I have never seen hatred spread so fast and I understand why,” she added. “Let me say that Albert and I never, not one time, ever made plans to leave this city.”

If she and Albert never had plans to leave they would still be in Saint Louis because I am sure they could have lived comfortably with the $220 million the Cardinals offered over ten years.

To be honest a five year deal is what I would have offered.  Pujols used his leverage to get a 10 year deal for almost $250 million and that was his plan from the beginning.

Don’t be mad at God because people aren’t stupid enough to believe your BS.
