This has me perplexed.
Just the fact that Humphries is in the poll is amazing. In 2010 if you asked 100 causal NBA fans who was Kris Humphries, I doubt more than 25 knew who he was and even the ones that did couldn’t name what team he played for.
Even die hard NBA fans ever gave him a passing thought.
As we enter into 2012 he is one of the most recognizable faces of the league and it has nothing to do with his play on the court.
In a new poll of the least liked NBA players — conducted by Nielsen and E-Poll Market Research, so you know this is legit — Humphries topped even the two traditional black hat guys in the NBA as the league’s most disliked. And this wasn’t just a poll of the Kardashian family. Although apparently for much of America the Net forward came off as the bad guy in all this.
1. Kris Humphries
2. LeBron James
3. Kobe Bryant
4. Tony Parker
5. Metta World Peace (the artist formerly known as Ron Artest)
6. Chris Bosh
7. Carmelo Anthony
8. Paul Pierce
9. Dwyane Wade
10. Lamar Odom
You can’t tell me the Kardashian’s don’t have power to influence opinions on popular culture. Look at those names on the list and ask yourself would there be any other list that Kris Humphries would appear on with these players?
I would really like to ask The Hump if it is was all worth it now? The question begs would you rather be famous for something like this or being anonymous just playing ball?
