Kevin Durant on Blake Griffin’s Dunk “It was a Layup”

Two things need to be cleared up.

1- Kendrick Perkins did not delete his Twitter account because of the dunk.  He deleted it weeks earlier, after I called him out for being a Twitter gangster, for being salty at the critiques Chris Webber gave of him.

2- By definition the Griffin dunk was indeed a DUNK.

Now, everyone has their own definition of what a dunk is, but the official definition would make it a dunk.  My personal feelings is that you have to cleaning flush for it to be a “perfect” dunk, but that doesn’t take away the brilliance of Griffin taking Kendrick Perkins soul.

Kevin Durant, like a good teammate try to downplay the soul taking.

“I have no appreciation for it at all,” said Perkins’ Thunder teammate, Kevin Durant. “It was a layup, I think. He threw the ball in and got fouled and made his free throw, so it was three points at the end of the day, no matter how it happened, how it went in the basket. I really wasn’t impressed. He finished it. So what? We’ve moved on.”

Durant wasn’t surprised the play gained so much attention.

“I wasn’t surprised because Blake is a poster child,” Durant said. “He dunks the ball a lot and makes spectacular plays. If it wasn’t against us, maybe I’d say it was a good play, but it was against us, so it was a bad play. I have nothing against Blake, don’t get me wrong. But it was against us, so I’ve got to stick up for my teammate.”

Some  subliminal ether there from KD.

In the end KD has built up such good will, I will ignore the hint of saltiness in his comments and just say he is trying to get some of the heat of Perkins who is still being slander as we speak.
