Earlier this morning, Gary Myers of the New York Daily News tweeted out that he believed that former Giants Tight End Jeremy Shockey may have an interest in returning to play for his former team. The prompted an angry response from former teammate Amani Toomer who tweeted out the following.
Bad Teammate is one thing, but to throw in a “Worse Person” is pretty harsh.
It is interesting to note that when a follower called him out on the fact that he didn’t leave the Giants on the best of terms, Toomer did not shy away from the criticism and gave a pretty honest answer.
They say the hardest thing for an athlete to do is to realize it is over (Brett?) even years after retirement. So it is pretty refreshing for an athlete to look back and admit they were wrong about that.
But “Worse Person”? Damn.
Update
*******
Shockey, never at a loss for words, responded with some ether.
Wow, so somebody who basically Najeh Davenported his ex-wife’s clothing is calling somebody else a worse person? Toomer responded that Shockey basically proved his point, but it really seems like he got called out on calling someone out and is now stuck in the air.
He has to be pissed.
