Brett Favre Compares Tony Romo to Himself

Make or break year for Tony Romo.

I truly believe if the Cowboys don’t make a deep run in the playoffs that Jerry Jones will be actively looking for his replacement.

I don’t think the Brett Favre comparison makes any sense, but Brett likes hearing himself talk.

In an interview with Deion Sanders on NFL Network, Favre discussed what he likes about several active quarterbacks. But he said the one who plays the game the way he played it is Romo.

Romo is probably more like me than any of those guys,” Favre said. “I think way too much is cast upon him, good or bad. It’s Dallas, and much is expected. He’s carried those guys. I watched him last year, and I like Tony. I like the way he plays. I think at times he’s underrated.”

Quarterback is a glamor position.

Succeed and you will get more credit than you deserve. Fail and you will take more blame than you deserve.

Gift and the Curse.

In that regard Romo reminds me more of Donovan McNabb than Brett Favre who won a title pretty early in his career and had Ring Protection.

Romo will just have to man up and accept the responsibility of being the leader of the Cowboys. In Dallas being just good isn’t good enough.
