August 1st is Amare Stoudemire’s release date for his first children’s book called “STAT: Standing Tall And Talented” its the first of three installments, books 2 and 3 are set to release Oct. 2012 and Jan. 2013. The book is based on a 11 year old Stoudemire who plays basketball, assist his dad with his landscaping company, and being a successful student. On the court an older group of boys bullies his friends and Amare saves the day with his athleticism and intellect.
Stoudemire is excited about getting kids to read.
“I am excited to create my book series with Scholastic. They are the best in the business so I trust them with my stories. I decided to write for children because although I am an avid reader now, I wish I had read more as a child. I hope that together with Scholastic, we can creatively inspire a new generation to read.”
