Will this finally be the draft pick Michael Jordan gets right?
Only time will tell. The kid is a baller and a winner though. That has to count for something.
The Charlotte Observer is reporting that Kidd-Gilchrist is now officially a Bobcat.
The Charlotte Bobcats signed No. 2 overall pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Saturday, which will allow the rookie small forward to participate in summer-league practices and games starting Tuesday in Las Vegas.
Under the rookie pay scale, salaries for first-round picks are slotted based on draft position. Kidd-Gilchrist will make about $4 million this season. His contract is guaranteed this season and next, and then the Bobcats will have two one-season options, based on the collective bargaining agreement.
Hopefully Jordan and new head coach Mike Dunlap will have the whole team participating in the NBA Summer league in Vegas July 13-22.
