Arizona Cardinal cornerback Patrick Peterson has always been a bit of a braggadocious one.
Who can blame him.
He was a top pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, He’s a LSU corner, and he only tied the record for punt return touchdowns in a season in 2011.
Peterson now wants to enhance his reputation based on the reason he was drafted, as a shutdown corner.
Pro Football Talk reports that Peterson told Jim Rome on ROME that he now wants to be known as an elite cornerback in 2012.
Peterson spoke about his future and how covering Larry Fitzgerald everyday should enhance his goal.
“I’m definitely looking to make a huge mark at the cornerback position,” Peterson said. “I’m definitely looking to make my mark as a shutdown corner this year.”
“I’m 10 times more comfortable and have 10 times more confidence in myself going into Year Two,” Peterson said.
Peterson definitely has the talent to back up talk he is doing.
If you can hang with covering Larry Fitzgerald everyday, then covering the other NFL wide-outs should be a breeze.
