I’m not sure what it is about the “Patriot Way”, but people buy into the idea of playing and carrying yourself a certain way.
New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has bought in, and he feels it changed his life.
Hernandez showed a ton of emotion yesterday during his press conference to announce his new 5 year $40 million deal.
“This is probably one of the best days of my life,” Hernandez said before the annual team gala at Gillette Stadium. “I’ll remember this day forever.”
Hernandez who is expecting his first child will receive a signing bonus of $12.5 million.
The first thing he did with his new money was donate it to the foundation established for the late Mya Kraft. It was in tribute to everything the Patriots owner has done for him.
“He changed my life,” Hernandez said. “[The contract shows] he trusts me to make me the right decision [and it] means a lot.”
He again threw out tremendous praise for his head coach Bill Belichick.
“You get changed by the Bill Belichick way, you get changed by the Patriot Way.”
It might be time to brand the “Patriot Way.”
