CBSSports.com is reporting that Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins will miss the entire preseason after recovering from wrist surgery.
GM Sam Presti wants Perkins ready to help defend their Western Conference crown and fend off those paper champion Lakers.
What we’re trying to do is have him ready for the first game of the regular season,” said Thunder general manager Sam Presti. “His conditioning, his fitness levels — he’s done a fantastic job. His wrist is the thing we have to be very cautious with, and we will be.”
Perkins partially tore his groin in the first round of the playoffs against the Maverick but toughed it out.
He then tore ligaments in the wrist against the Spurs and played through that as well.
The thunder sighed Hasheem Thabeet to offer some backup assistance.
