The beef is on people and let Shady McCoy tell it, it’s real.
The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles will do battle again this Sunday and the Eagles pro bowl running back fired another shot via an interview he did.
LeSean McCoy and Osi Umenyiora have done the verbal back and forth for more than two seasons now, and after a few months hiatus, the New York Daily News is reporting that McCoy sparked it up again.
During an episode of E:60 that will air on ESPN Tuesday, McCoy referred to Umenyiora as “a ballerina in a Giants uniform” and called “him the fourth best defensive end on his team.”
Even though the two have been funny about the feud, McCoy insist the beef “is real.”
“Yeah this is for real — like I don’t like Osi,” McCoy said in comments released by ESPN prior to the show. “I don’t know how he feels. He might think it’s a game, but I don’t play them type of games. So every time on the field I would say stuff to him like ‘You is a bum … You are the third best defensive lineman on the defense.’ Which I didn’t lie.
“Wait, I did lie. He’s the fourth now, so I actually did lie.”
“Osi, to be honest, he is a good player. I think he thinks he’s better than what he really is. I think he’s a ballerina in a Giants uniform, but other than that that’s all I got to say about Osi.”
Umenyiora has decided to take the high road in this portion of the beef with McCoy.
Osi says that McCoy is “one of the greatest running backs in the league,”and “I wish him much continued success.”
“I might be a ballerina in a Giants uniform,” Umenyiora said. “I’m lucky I got the contract (a restructured deal that will pay him about $6 million this season). I’m lucky to be playing 10 years in the league, to have won two Super Bowls. All that is pure luck and I’m happy for him, I’m happy he got his contract and I’m happy everything is working out well for him in Philadelphia.”
Umenyiora and the New York papers can miss me with all that high road talk.
He basically told “Shady’ I’ve made millions, been in the league 10 plus years, and most importantly have 2 RINGS.
