The question begs what role did Brandon Jacobs think he would have?
At best he was going to be a short yardage back (even though he hasn’t that great at that) and at worse he was insurance if Frank Gore or Kendall Hunter got hurt.
With Gore and Hunter running very well there is simply no need for Jacobs at this present time. This is something that seems to perplex him according to Pro Football Zone. Here is what Jacobs had to say.
Jacobs admits that he’s frustrated since coming to San Francisco.
“Oh, very. Because I don’t know anything. I don’t know what’s what,” he said. “But I’m hanging in there, I’m working every day, doing what I have to do. Let’s say I’m just working and doing what I have to do and that’s that.
“I’ve learned over the years when you open your mouth and say certain things, it hurts you, so I’m just going to shut up and keep working.”
Jacobs was asked how he’d feel if he doesn’t play this week against his former team.
“It would disappoint me a lot,” he said. “But like I said, it’s not my call.”
For someone who is saying don’t open your mouth, he certainly said a mouthful.
Expect Jacobs to be making love to that inactive list unless there is an injury.
