Miami Heat reserve guard Ray Allen wants everyone to know he’s not pleased about how his tenure in Boston ended and he wants people to know.
We wrote a previous post detailing how Allen felt like he had no choice but to leave Boston after the way he was treated.
Celtics Blog is now reporting that Allen is dishing more dirt.
According to Allen, Celtics president Danny Ainge is the person to blame for his beef with Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo.
Allen says the friction started in 2009 when the Celtics tried to trade him to and Rondo to Phoenix for Amare Stoudemire, Leandro Barbosa, and the 14th overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft.
Allen revealed that at the time, Doc Rivers and Ainge both were not feeling Rajon Rondo and his attitude.
“So, I called him (Rondo) and I told him, ‘hey they’re supposedly trading us to Phoenix because you and Danny and Doc don’t get along,’ ” Allen said. “ ‘So, whatever you can do.’ “So, for some reason, I guess he thought that I was … that I had something against him, or there were some issues. And I had no issues with him. I won with him.”
If Rondo “had issue with me, that’s on him.” “I have a way of going about doing my job that, I want everyone to come and play their hardest and come in and do their job and I can’t, I don’t worry myself with things I can’t control,”
Ray Allen is firing shots at a heavy clip, and I’m not talking about three’s either.
Opening night will be interesting.
