Losing 12 of their last 13 against the arch-rival Trojans, perhaps UCLA just wants to annoy USC some.
In advance of it’s game against the Trojans this Saturday, UCLA informed USC that their drum major will not be allowed to stab his sword into the UCLA logo at midfield. If the request is not complied with, USC has been informed their band will not be allowed to perform at halftime.
It is a tradition dating back to the 1970’s for the Trojan drum major to plant his sword at midfield. For both home and away USC games.
Seems slightly petty but as UCLA actually has a chance to beat USC this year, as long as they back it up on the field it will be warranted.
