Attempting to come back from a torn ACL, the New York Yankees are expected to ask the all-time saves leader Mariano Rivera to take a pay cut.
Rivera is already 43, and according to Bob Klapisch in the Bergen Record he should not expect to receive the same 15 million he made last season.
The Yankees hold all the leverage in this situation and I’m sure they know it. Rivera won’t pitch anywhere else and there is a good chance this will be his last season in the majors.
