Adrian Peterson is in the running for Comeback Player of the Year, any offensive player of the year award, and if his team had a better record, possibly the NFL MVP.
Peterson’s focus though is squarely on Eric Dickerson and his single season rushing record. Peterson has 1,600 yards rushing with 3 games left.
Peterson is on pace to rush for 1,960 yards on the season, possibly 2,000. Peterson as I mentioned earlier has his sights set on Dickerson’s 2,106, and as Peterson told Dan Patrick this morning, Dickerson should be very nervous.
Patrick asked Peterson if he feels he has a shot to break Dickerson’s mark.
“I do,” Peterson said. “The guys in front of me are doing a great job of blocking. I feel it’s possible.”
Patrick then asked Peterson if he felt Dickerson should be nervous about the prospects of him breaking his record.
“I think so,”
I think Adrian Peterson’s comeback from his torn ACL is beyond remarkable. It’s inspiring and amazing.
My money is on AP.
