Bulls’ Richard Hamilton Injures Foot Against Philadelphia

The Bulls thought they were getting a veteran back court mate for Derrick Rose two off-seasons ago when they acquired SG Richard Hamilton as a free agent. They now have neither of them for the foreseeable future because Hamilton tore tissue in his foot during the third quarter of the Bulls game against the Sixers.

Hamilton played 28 games for the Bulls last season due to injury and so far this year Hamilton is averaging 13.9 PPG in 15 games this season.

Hamilton discussed the injury with ESPN Chicago‘s Nick Friedell:

“I felt something pop,” Hamilton admitted after the game.

Hamilton elaborated on the injury:

“Just the simple fact that there was nobody around. They always say the worst injuries are when nobody’s around and you didn’t fall down on nobody’s foot or anything like that so it’s just one of them things that when it happened it scared me. When I felt it I didn’t want to put no pressure on it, but it wasn’t a whole lot of pain. That’s why it was so freaky to me.”
