The New York Giants have their swagger back, and now they can run their mouths again. The Newark Star Ledger is reporting that Giants king of mouth running Osi Umenyiora fired a shot and put the rest of the league on notice.
Umenyiora was on ESPN 98.7 yesterday and was asked if Patriots are the NFL’s best team after their 42-14 rout of the Texans Monday night.
The ESPN radio anchor put the bait out there, and Umenyiora gobbled it up hook. line, and sinker.
“When the Giants are playing our best, there’s no question we’re the best team in football,” Umenyiora said. “We’ve just been inconsistent. So if we can play the way we’re capable of playing – the way we played against San Francisco, the way we played against Green Bay, the way we played against the Saints for the majority of the game – I don’t think there’s a team that’s better than us at all.”
There is nothing better this time of year, than the Giants playing well, and popping off at the mouth.
