As we reported yesterday, the Pittsburgh Steelers have suspended running back Rashard Mendenhall for conduct detrimental to the team.
Today Pro Football Talk via Ed Bouchette of the Post-Gazette is reporting that Mendenhall, who wasn’t active, didn’t even show up for the game this past Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
Mendenhall will appeal his suspension, and will lose $41,000 in-game salary.
Mendenhall’s agent Mike McCartney released a statement on the matter.
“What’s happened, happened,” agent Mike McCartney told Bouchette. “When I spoke to Rashard, I know he is very excited next Monday to rejoin his teammates. He’s going to come back with great energy to do everything he can to help the Pittsburgh Steelers win football games.”
Mendenhall who will a free agent this off-season needs to focus on showing prospective teams he can be a workhorse back for them.
His time in Pittsburgh seems to be up at this point, that type of selfishness will not be tolerated by that organization.
Smarten up Nas, you mad because you’ve been demoted for fumbling.
