The talk of the Buffalo Bills getting a new quarterback has been rampant as the end of the season draws near. It has been so rampant, that it already seems a foregone conclusion that incumbent starter Ryan Fitzpatrick is gone after this season.
If you ask Ryan if you think this is his last start in the NFL, his answer is short and sweet.
“No,”Fitzpatrick said when asked by Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News.
Wide Receiver Stevie Johnson came to his quarterbacks defense when asked his thoughts on the topic.
“Definitely, that’s my friend, before my quarterback,” wide receiver Stevie Johnson said. “So the sympathy thing is there because there’s a lot on that position. That’s around the league. You win and you’re The Man. You lose and everybody’s looking at you like it’s your fault.”
“I can sympathize with him but I can sympathize with every other quarterback in the league also. It’s just the nature of the business.”
Whichever way you look at it, change is coming to the quarterback position in Buffalo.
With an 18-31 record as a starter, bringing back Fitzpatrick would be a hard sell to make anyone believe the Bills are serious about winning.
