This round of the college football coaching carousel is definitely shocking with several stunner’s. Well we can all be prepared to continue being stunned with the latest move.
Yahoo Sports is reporting from several sources that Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville will accept and fill the vacant head coaching position at Cincinnati.
Tuberville would be replacing Butch Jones who accepted the Tennessee job yesterday. Tuberville will be leaving Texas Tech after 3 seasons,
He will be introduced as the Bearcats’ new coach at a 6:30 p.m. ET press conference Saturday. Tuberville does not seem like a Big East type of guy, but does have a relationship with current Cincinnati Athletic Director Whit Babcock.
Tuberville was 20-17 in three seasons at Texas Tech, replacing Mike Leach.
The highlight of his season was the negative altercation Tuberville had with graduate assistant Kevin Oliver during the Red Raiders’ 41-34 overtime victory over Kansas.
Tuberville smacked Oliver’s headset and hat off during a sideline explosion that was caught on tape.
